I- is for I Love Farmers They Feed My Soul. When it came to this letter it was a no-brainer because this organization means the world to me, so much so that it is hard to describe in words.
I first learned about this organization back in August of 2009 in California and that’s where I meet Dr. Scott Vernon. Wow that seems like such I long time ago! I fell in love with what ILF stood for and what they were trying to accomplish!
Fast forward a few years to spring of 2012, I wanted to be a change and make a change. It occurred to me that Missouri did not have a catalyst group and our state is deeply involved in agriculture leading me to make a call. The call led to the idea of catalyst group in Missouri which abruptly ended with me as the only member. Dr. Vernon said I would be a statement- this girl chooses to stand up for agriculture in her state, who will stand with her?
This wonderful opportunity gave me the chance to spread my wings by becoming a catalyst I was able to start my blogging career and buying wonderful ILF gear to show my pride.
Being a catalyst also gave me the chance to host a WTF day that I had always wanted to host and was so much fun.
To top it all off with my development as an agvocate and a catalyst, I was honored to receive honorable mention in the “Agriculture Advocate of the Year Award.”
This organization is the world to me. It gave me my start as a blogger and led to my own blog, and my own social media identity as theaggiehipster.
I hope Dr. Vernon and I lover farmers knows how grateful I am to them and how the words “ thank you” do not even begin to describe my feelings.
Keep it real friends,
The Aggie Hipster
